Food delivery tipping follows similar logic to rideshare tipping — it's most expected in the US and increasingly common elsewhere as delivery apps have spread internationally.
In the US, 15-20% of the order total, with a minimum of a few dollars for short deliveries, is typical. In many other countries, a smaller amount or none at all is normal, particularly where the app already includes a delivery fee that goes to the courier.
Delivery apps usually let you set the tip before or after the order arrives. Weather and distance are worth factoring in — a delivery made in poor conditions or from far away is often tipped a bit more generously.
