Drinks brought to you at a gaming table are often described as “free,” but the server is working for tips exactly as they would behind a bar.
Restaurants: 15-20% of the bill, same as the rest of the US. Cocktail servers on the casino floor: $1-2 per drink, even if the drink itself was complimentary. Valet parking: $2-5 when your car is returned, more for a busy night or a nicer property. Bellmen: $1-2 per bag. Table game dealers: placing a small bet for the dealer, or tipping directly after a winning session, is customary but not obligatory.
Because casino floor staff move constantly and serve dozens of people an hour, small consistent cash tips ($1 per drink, rather than one large tip at the end) tend to get you noticed and served faster for the rest of your visit. Keep a stack of small bills handy — valets and cocktail servers rarely carry change.
